Families Needing Farmers
Phillip Hughes 1 (crop)

DSEG client and exciting young Australian batsman, Phillip Hughes, has helped the New South Wales Farmers Association launch an exciting new public awareness campaign – Families Needing Farmers.

The campaign is designed to help raise awareness about NSW farming practices and the families who live on the land. By raising awareness, the campaign seeks to bridge the growing divide between city consumers and farmers.

Phillip is an ideal ambassador for the Association. Being the son of a banana farmer, he knows exactly what it's like to live on a farm. Phillip was born and raised in the small northern New South Wales coastal town of Macksville and hopes one day to return to farming.

“When I retire from playing cricket and if all goes to plan, I want to run a stud cattle farm with my father. We've already started with 15 head of cattle and plan to increase it year by year. Hopefully we'll have a pretty big property by the time I retire. That's my dream".

Details of the Families Needing Farmers campaign can be found on the
Familes Needing Farmers website.
